5.7x 28 Pistol - FN introduces a completely redesigned version of the Five-sevenN semi-automatic pistol with all the fun and frills of the latest pistols for military/law enforcement use. Optical-ready slides and a textured, multi-surface pistol grip are among the several improvements offered by the new MRD Mk3.
This was the first - and for a long time, the only - gun designed for the 5.7x28 mm ammunition.

At the Eurosatory, Paris, from 13 to 17 June 2022, FN Herstal will introduce a completely redesigned Five-Seven pistol, called the MRD Mk3.
The Five-sevenN pistol was developed in the late 1990s as a companion to the innovative P90 SMG in the same caliber.
Now, with other manufacturers like Ruger, Palmetto State Armory, and Diamondback Firearms finally joining the 5.7 bandwagon, FN has decided to give their pistols a makeover.
The FN Five-sevenN Mk3 MRD is also available in a flat dark finish and with an optional fiber long barrel + noise suppressor.

Repairs and upgrades are taking too long for an aspiring pistol to compete in today's polymer firearms military and law enforcement market. The "new" MRD Five-sevenN Mk3 now has a completely revised design in line with recent FN products - in particular the FN 509 series - with a squarer slide, aggressive front/aft rows, and a wide cockpit for easier press check , more corner trigger guard and multi-surface texture for grip, to improve shooting control and comfort.
More importantly, in the new configuration, the Five-sevenN features an optical-ready slide, which is compatible with most common red dot sights.
Mechanically, it makes no difference compared to the previous Five-Seven, meaning that it's a semi-automatic delayed-blown pistol with a concealed hammer. The magazine capacity is still 20 rounds, the same as the old configuration. The barrel length is also the same, which is 4.8"/122 mm.
From the previous version, the MRD Five-sevenN Mk3 adopted many good features, including controls, a full grip frame design, and a height-adjustable mechanical "suppressor" sight to allow proof - an optional long fiber barrel and noise suppressor were available. .
